TV Shows to Watch/Binge - Current and All-Time

Right now, my list is as follows:

The Expanse (if it keeps being consistent, it could become the best action/sci-fi series I've seen,
ever)

BSG Remake (grown up, mature, dark and intricate science fiction; I even love the last season)

The Sopranos (probably the single greatest TV series of all time)

Longmire (incredibly overlooked, imo. It's not something I heard too many people talking about
when it was on A&E, and after Netflix got it I converted many of my friends)

Breaking Bad (the quintessential modern tragedy, and it went out on the best possible
terms, simply a masterpiece)

There are a few honorable mentions; The Wire, Lost (before it got lost deep in its own asshole), House of Cards, Hannibal. If you ask me this question another day, I might have one or more of these in my top 5, they're all that good, imo.

Longmire is solid. It's always amusing when they still need to go to Australia to cast weathered American cowboys. Hannibal is a good shout. Should have been on cable. Sopranos is quality but, for me, it doesn't surpass the masterpiece that is the Wire. Tony Soprano is the singular force and focus of that show so it's hard to compare it to a multi-narrative ensemble masterpiece.

Speaking of David Simon, did anyone catch the first season of 'The Deuce'?, a hat tip to the early NY porn scene.

Mindhunters was another recent show that really worked. David Fincher's involvement elevates most things. Early Luther with Ruth Wilson (Alice) was captivating. Good to see Idris with a role that can somewhat move him on from Stringer Bell.

I've yet to watch Season Four of Luther, but I kinda hated how Alice had way less of a presence after Season Two. That said, I thought Season Three's final scene was perfect and would've been greatly satisfied if things stopped there.

The serial problem of getting cast in higher paying US shows. In this case, "The Affair".

Ozark it has a Breaking Bad vibe. Cool

Basically a father living in Chicago as a financial adviser ends up working for a very important cartel in Mexico and to launder his money he must move to a remote and discreet region (Ozark) in the deep America.

Season 2 will be released on August 31.

The Expanse is this generation's BSG. Also recommend Killing Eve.

^Mindhunter adapted for broadcast TV would have resembled some lame procedural fanfare like Criminal Minds. David Fincher has talent to burn. On a side note, Denzel turned down the Brad Pitt role in Seven. It could have been Denzel and Morgan Part Deux. It is good to see that Netflix is producing these high quality dramas like Ozark and Mindhunter alongside the Marvel stuff.

Season 3 of True Detective is coming, starring Mahershala Ali.

Has anyone watch the Cloak & Dagger Show. I've been really into all things Marvel but I haven't gotten a chance to watch it and see if it's any good. I'm kind of hesitant with it being on Freeform which was ABC family.

^ I've watched the first few episodes of Cloak and Dagger. The two lead actors are interesting but the story is moving along very slowly. I'm hopeful that there's a payoff for my patience in letting the story develop further.
