I may be in the minority here, but I think Shotgun is putting in too much effort to moderate posts.  If somebody gets on an open internet forum, and doesn't have the common sense to avoid endless argument, name-calling, and all the other crazy BS that people eventually complain about, then that is their problem.  Not the responsibility of the moderator.

So instead of policing the board, I suggest only responding to complaints. But with an eye also on the complainant. Does he have a history of complaints?  Is he is too thin-skinned to handle shit?  Does he constantly get into shouting-matches?  Same of course applies to the person being complained about.

There's enough political-correctness out there.  Shotgun and the other moderators also have lives and shit to attend to.  I dont think they need a gaggle of children here.

As to the Rep system; as I've stated in a post some time ago;  it indicates Reputation which takes time to build.  Maybe the moderators need to post a clear guide to what they feel earns a Rep.

The personal attack rule is one thing I can't bend on. Conversations are way more productive now than they were before specifically because they do not devolve into name calling and shit throwing contests. Dudes actually have to argue the facts of their case, they can't just call each other f@ggots or uncle Tom.

Not only is the forum much more active on the discussion side than it ever was before, the quality of the discussion is the highest it's ever been. I may have messed up a few things around here, but this isn't one of them.
Please don't bend on the personal attack rule.  I came here for the videos, but find myself much more intrigued by the content of what people have to say.  A lot of the good stuff comes from people that I might disagree with and I like it that I am forced to listen to them state their case.  Besides, too much bs attacking in life.  We all have way more in common than we realize.

It was an important change. Rex will tell you, there were times when it was Fox News, Jerry Springer, and Cardi B rolled up into one big 4Chan shit sandwich up in here sometimes. The conversations are just so much more interesting now both on the porn side and the community side.

Hell, the old "outside" forum used to go DAYS without a post in it because people didn't want to deal with all the name calling and sellout accusations.

Now if we could only get Congress and the President to follow the IR-TUBE rules we might be able to run the country- FOR THE PEOPLE- instead of just taking out toys out of the sandbox and going home when we don't like what the other folks have to say. Sometimes these folks forget, they WORK FOR US first. You can look out for your base, but your job is to work for the American People- all of us.

Cheers people. Have a great weekend. I hope I don't sprain my ankle jumping down from the soapbox! HAHA.

Shotgun Styles, how about letting us be able to edit our own posts at anytime?

This was discussed last summer. It's an accountability issue. This keeps people from destroying evidence of past statements. 4BBC is a tremendous post sleuth. You say something now, he's very liable to go back years and find you saying something that's completely opposite. I like that. I like people having to be accountable for what they say over the long term.

I would like to see a rule put in place for forum-preferred imagehosts and filehosts. More so the prior than the latter.
But it would stop Third World pirates from posting stuff which only premium account users can DL.

Yeah, that was discussed during the transition.

We decided against negative rep and ratings. It can be abused, bullying and ganging up can happen. It's just a bad look. So no.
