Is ASMR a coping mechanism for lonliness?

LMAO! when you have headphones on, it's like a real woman is there with you, whispering, or blowing, into your ear. that is one of my hotspots and it triggers me immensely. i have no idea how that is relaxing for some folks. then again, the whispering thing is only ONE aspect of ASMR. there are so many types of them all over youtube. so people like the sounds of ASMR people chewing gum, cutting hair, roleplaying, all kinds of stuff! it's an interesting genre to say the least.

ASMR used to be fairy innocent.. but it started turning a little pornographic because of dudes requesting that the girls do more and more. on youtube, a lot of ladies kinda tow a fine line, just barely going THERE.. a lot of them have side hustles like patreon, etc. where they go FURTHER, like getting nude and more graphic.

i'm not that familiar with ASMR outside of youtube.. but i'm not surprised that the major porn companies have jumped on the popular genre.

This is where I was going with this. Lonely dudes don't get this kind of personal attention, and porn doesn't really provide it. So they're substituting this sleep therapy for actual intimacy.

Loneliness and suicide are at all time highs. Watching this phenomenon take off makes me wonder if other forms of artificial interpersonal connection are coming in the future.

I don't know if I should be sad, or what, but I feel bad for these dudes that they feel so hopeless about finding a woman of their own.

Fuck those incels and their self imposed martyrdom. I suffer from social anxiety that kept me a virgin until well after college. I never whined. I figured it out. So should they.

Dunno, I think most people on youtube either go one way or the other and find it funny or relaxing. I haven't been exposed to the guys who are lonely as fuck, I just assumed those are the ones who buy 'gfe' girlfriend experience content and get subdued by predatory sex workers

Unfair. Unreasonable. And most importantly, FACTUALLY UNTRUE.

I'm still lost as to what and how you perform ASMR or how this helps you cope with lonliness.

I was specifically referring to incels. Young men who believe that all women are engaged in a conspiracy to deny them sex and whose culture is so toxic they got banned from Reddit. And there's that whole thing where they like to fantasize/plan/or commit mass murder in the name of the "cause".

I still say fuck those guys.

As for ASMR, I have tinnitus and have listened to low volume sports radio as a sleep assistant for years. Not sure that't the same thing, but it works for me.

For me, the effects are REAL, I have been experienced the sensation associated with it for as long as I can remember.

But, I have no awareness of what it was, why I was experiencing it, and importantly, WHAT to label it

Certain trigger or trigger points elicit a particular psychical response that puts me in a very relaxed and tranquil mode.

When I was young and used to get my hair braided or cornrowed, or if I observed someone massaging hair or filing their nails, or hearing the clicking of jewelry, those were strong triggers.

But I get that many cannot relate to it because like maybe they never associated triggers or trigger points to physical responses.

Mr Styles, I don't understand why you are so quick to associate ASMR with sex? Why the link?

Can there not be an innocent way to experience relaxation without it being sexual?

But I think it is populated on Youtube mainly by young, somewhat attractive girls, this is what you are associating it with, but effects have very little to do with sex.

The painter Bob Ross, was unintentionally a pre-cursor to ASMR for many viewers of his show in the '80s.
Vaginas are for making babies and love. Buttholes are for making sex...
